| With the 2006 version of the Southern
Nationals Series officially in the books, series promoter Ray Cook would
like to thank all of the drivers, track promoters, sponsors, and most
of all, the fans, for participating in this year's tour. Anthony White,
of Clinton, Tennessee, became the second Southern Nationals Series point
champion in as many years, as he was able to best Brandon Kinzer, Dennis
Franklin, Casey Roberts, and Damon Eller. Just like in the inaugural year
in 2005, the 2006 edition of the series was ultra-competitive.
Jimmy Owens, of Newport, Tennessee, was the only driver that was able to capture two series victories in 2006, as he took the checkered flag at both the Tazewell (TN) Speedway and the Volunteer (TN) Speedway. Other series winners included: Dennis Franklin, Benji Cole, Anthony White, Henry Carter, Jerry Ashley, Clint Smith, and Casey Roberts. You can view complete results from each of the ten series events online at www.southernnationalsseries.com. "We had a very competitive series once again this year and I think everything went pretty smoothly," commented Cook earlier in the week. "I want to thank all of the fans, sponsors, drivers, and track promoters for participating with the series. Without all of their support, we wouldn't be able to put on a quality show. I especially want to thank the promoters at Brasstown, Bulls Gap, and Tazewell because those shows were all in jeopardy of getting rained out and they stuck out the weather. Hopefully, we can put together a great schedule for 2007 and put on some great shows for the fans in the Southeast!" Ray Cook and everyone associated with the Southern Nationals Series would like to thank the following marketing partners for their continued support: MasterSbilt Race Cars, GRT Race Cars, Barry Wright Race Cars, Warrior Race Cars, Rocket Chassis, VP Racing Fuels, Race It, PPM Racing Products, SHY Racing Suspensions, Ohlins Shocks, Schaeffer's Oil, Graphic Impressions, Delph Communications, BRT, Hoosier Racing Tires, American Racer, and Panther Motorsports Design.
