2008 Season Recap
In the short history of the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series, the 2008 season proved to be the most exciting and entertaining. Fans across the Southeast were able to enjoy a classic duel between Chris Madden and Dennis "Rambo" Franklin, who together captured eight wins in the ten series races in '08. At the conclusion of the final series event at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee, both drivers were tied for the series point lead. However, Chris Madden was awarded his second straight series title by virtue of capturing five victories compared to Franklin's three wins.

Not only was the top spot hotly contested, but so was the entire point battle. Brandon Kinzer and Tony Knowles also tied for the third spot, but Kinzer got the nod by virtue of posting the highest series finish. In all, 147 drivers competed in the ten-race campaign, which took place at different venues in Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. Mother Nature cooperated throughout the series and the nice weather, along with the hot racing, proved to be major factors in the large fan turn-out throughout the two-week span.

The series was sponsored in 2008 by the following marketing partners: O'Reilly Auto Parts, AlturnaMATS, American Racer Tires, Arvil Cook Property Investments, Barry Wright Race Cars, BRT Racing Products, Delph Communications, Extreme Hauling & Excavating, Fibertech Roofs by JB Performance, Georgia Performance Graphics, Graphic Impressions, GRT Race Cars, GW Performance, Hoosier Racing Tire, Integra Racing Shocks, MasterSbilt Race Cars, Ohlins Shocks, PPM Performance Products, Rocket Chassis, Schaeffer's Oil, SHY Racing Suspensions, VP Race Fuels, Wiles Driveshafts, and Wilwood Engineering
