The Perth, Western Australia driver notched his first-career
American win after leading all 35 laps in an attrition-filled
ending at Crossville (Tenn.) Speedway Thursday Night for the $3,500
payday. This is Vosbergen’s third season on the tour and
after nearly 30 events, the “Thunder from Down-Under”
is now a series winner. He also becomes the 34th different winner
in all-time series history. So far this season, there have been
six new winners enter victory lane for their first series triumph.
Vosbergen drove the Tennessee RV Sales & Service Super Center,
Maxima Oils and FK Rod Ends-sponsored Longhorn Chassis to the
victory.
After eight racing events, Devin Gilpin sits atop the point
standings with a mere 12-point gap between second place driver
Ricky Weiss. Shanon Buckingham is third in the tour points, only
16 points out of first place. Buckingham also leads the Rookie
of the Year standings after eight races over second place runner
Gavin Landers and Robby Moses.
The series will return to action for Round 9 at Smoky Mountain
Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. paying $5,300-to-win on Friday Night.
